I already miss it? I have been just long enough to be TORTURED by fellow classmates at old Akron U. Especially the boy who sits next to me that drives me crazy by saying awful awful things like "SONJA ES MUY ARTISTICA!." Ugh. Currently searching for an apartment...hopefully I will have found one within a week or two because I DON'T CARE.

Someone lend me their library card so I can borrow TRUMAN CAPOTE books (MAKING FRUITCAKES?? Everything makes me want to die of inadequacy). Someone tell me how to contact Kristin Poinar. I haven't had a library card of my own since 6th grade which seems like a paradox but like all paradoxes TRUE. I'm just going to waste my life watching the 3 am reruns of Iron Chef and browsing the ever-interesting Williams-Sonoma catalog for things like faux wood flatware that I actually desperately want instead of writing the GREAT AMERICAN NOVEL. How's that for a long sentence?

This is Self-Improvement Summer III. In the past summers this included things like planning on dyeing my hair, bleaching my teeth, trying again and again to FINISH READING THE DICTIONARY etc etc. I don't know maybe not being such an asshole was in there too. The thing about these summers is that the improvements last 2 months. This time is the usual gym-going thing where I watch Vh1 movies and read foreign language guides. Life is good.

I haven't updated for 4 months...but I just saw HEDI SLIMANE at Colette in Paris. One dream down, how many more to go (other than meeting George Harrison D:)? In case you didn't know, I am currently on vacation in Switzerland with a French Interlude. Geneva is pretty boring:

Kelly and me = twins.
That's all, BYE!

one in twenty [17 Feb 2004|12:14am]
[ music | Jim Croce ]

Currently sitting at a computer with a red steak for a desktop and a harddrive named "SXE4LIFE." Having sentimental feelings about cartoons I used to love...including the ultimate:

Gundam Wing! Now I can finally admit that I had crushes on all the characters (secret Otaku? gaaah now I'm on Otaku.com).

What is a Parsons student is assigned to make? Paper shoes, of course. Go west, young man!

So I failed to mention that I saw "Lost in Translation." Everyone I know of worth who had seen it to that point had given me rave reviews. I have some unnecessary grudge against Sofia Coppola (refusing to see "The Virgin Suicides" even though I own the book...and the soundtrack) so I had to buy the ticket in a semi-conscious stage. I mean, I am an easily pleased person! I love BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM. I love Black Eyed Peas ("Lat 'in gurls!"). But someone tell me why that was the worst movie I have seen in past year? Everyone in the theater kept laughing at the old old asian jokes (that went on for WAY too long) while I was just confused. Plus people claiming to be insomniacs/act depressed always get to me. I did manage to squeeze a few tears out at the end but that may have been fatigue. I also (very) recently saw Battle Royale II: Requiem.

Battle Royale lovers BEWARE. While the first movie had me laughing and crying hysterically, this one just left me thinking someone really went hogwild on the blood effects.

PS Anyone know of any good t-shirt stores in NY? I found one once near Chinatown but it appears to have vanished off earth...

To me, Friday nights in NY means Yakitori. It's dark and crowded with a varying crowd of skinny white asian fetishers, Parsons kids, adults out for a "cultural" experience and private school city kids. The waitresses wear pigtails and pastel eyeshadow; the entire cookstaff is slim and attractive. Visitors order pitchers of beer to wash down mountains of food [but the bill is never high...]. Let's go sometime!

We find the Japanese guys behind the bar very attractive.

Food on sticks! Cabbage!

There is an Air poster.

Hello.

I like it here.

The obligatory sticker wall.

St. Marks is not just for punks who wish they lived in a different decade. It's for gluttons, too.

My perfect life:

1. Andrew W.K. would be in love with me.
2. Oasis would always be playing live in the backyard.

HI AGAIN [03 Oct 2003|04:31pm]

PLEASE LET TOMMOROW BE BORING. PLEASE?

PS I found my doppelganger today.

[18 Sep 2003|01:21am]
Every night I get a large coke and a plate-sized slice of cheese pizza at Ray's. Yesterday I was offered and ate a heavily peppered piece off of a strange man's fork at the same place. Don't worry, I repaid him with animal crackers.

It's a good life.

My Chinese Vancouver friend is on friendster! She's so great and ASIAN. She brings things like DUCK EGGS into the dorm room even though there is no refrigerator. She asks what things like "cuddling" and "spooning" mean even though she knows all the swear words (obviously). She likes Miss Sixty and Diesel A LOT

UH-OH. It has come to my attention that there exists a "I HATE SONJA" club at my dorm and at Parsons. What I didn't know was that the CAFETERIA WORKERS are in on it. Today the fat jolly one was SHIT TALKING ABOUT ME in a loud voice and wasn't even kidding ("SHE SAID SHE WASN'T COMING BACK AND NOW SHE DOES, WHAT THE FUCK? SHE SHOULD FUCKING STAY AWAY. WHAT THE FUCK??". We had a little SPFF (hahahaha) about rice pilaf which ended with me storming out of the cafeteria. DUDE if I pay $1400 a semester for disgusting food I'm going to eat it. Has it come to this?

Yes it has.

I hate people that understand a joke and then feel the need to repeat it out loud (they are so clever for figuring it out, no?). or statement of the obvious.

SEARCHING FOR JOEL STEIN [13 Aug 2003|11:37pm]
http://www.thejoelstein.com/writingView.htm?view=tooSexy.gif

Who is not in love with this man? Stand up so I can kill you. He's hot too! He had a mullet too but not one of those fashionable ones. Just a Macgyver-esque hideous as fuck ones.

"My other method of preparation took place the morning before the big event, when I ate Wheaties and put on my lucky shirt. Never having played sports seriously, I didn't actually have a lucky shirt, so I just picked one and called it lucky. If I didn't do well, I would just call it my unlucky shirt and throw it away. I spent most of the morning on the shirt thing."

You know it's really annoying when I want a snack at 2 am because I have to MAKE MY OWN and therefore the snack is ready at 3 am when I don't want it anymore.

sooo cuddddly and delicious.

Some woman attacked me today and made me sit on a bench at weird angles with flailing arms and took pictures of me being "boisterous."
